Introduction

Kedarnath, nestled in the majestic Garhwal Himalayas, is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in India. As one of the Char Dhams and the most prominent of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, Kedarnath draws lakhs of devotees and trekkers each year. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and situated on the banks of the Mandakini River, the Kedarnath Temple offers a divine spiritual experience and breathtaking Himalayan beauty.

Our founder, Aditya, often says it's the most positive pilgrimage destination he has ever visited. What touched him the most wasn't just the spiritual aura, but the simplicity of life in the high mountains — the ringing of the temple bells at dawn, the smiling faces of local porters helping pilgrims with heartfelt devotion, and the sheer silence of the mountains that somehow speaks to your soul. He believes Kedarnath doesn’t just cleanse your spirit — it awakens something deeper within.

Why Visit Kedarnath?

  • Spiritual Significance: Home to the ancient Kedarnath Temple, believed to be over 1,200 years old.

  • Himalayan Beauty: Witness panoramic views of snow-covered mountains like Kedarnath Dome and Kedar Parvat.

  • Trekking Adventure: A moderate 16 km trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath is filled with scenic landscapes, waterfalls, and a deep spiritual vibe.

  • Peaceful Atmosphere: Away from the chaos of cities, experience serene surroundings and soul-soothing silence.

The best time to visit Kedarnath is from May to June and September to October. The temple opens in late April or early May and closes around Diwali (October/November). Avoid the monsoon season (July–August) due to heavy rains and landslides.

The Kedarnath trek is moderately difficult, covering 16 km from Gaurikund to the temple. The path is steep in parts but well-paved. With proper fitness, warm clothing, and hydration, even first-time trekkers and pilgrims can complete it comfortably.

From Haridwar or Rishikesh, you can reach Gaurikund via taxi or bus (approx. 210–225 km). Gaurikund is the base point of the trek. Private cabs, shared jeeps, and GMOU buses operate daily during the Yatra season.

Yes, all pilgrims must undergo a mandatory health check-up and registration, which is available online or at Yatra counters en route. A basic medical certificate ensures you're fit for the high-altitude trek.

The route offers lodges, food stalls, water points, pony/palanquin services, and emergency medical aid. Mobile networks are limited, but basic amenities are available at Gaurikund, Jungle Chatti, Linchauli, and Kedarnath base.
