Itineraries

Day 1

Drive from Dehradun to Sankri (210 km | 8-9 hours)

Your journey begins early morning from Dehradun, driving through picturesque towns like Mussorie, Purola, and Mori. Enjoy the changing landscape as you move from plains to pine-covered hills. Arrive at Sankri, a charming Himalayan village and the starting point of your trek. Overnight stay in a guesthouse or homestay.

Highlights: Scenic mountain drive, pine forests, Yamuna & Tons river views.

Day 2

Drive from Sankri to Taluka (12 km | 1 hour) & Trek to Puani Garaat/Osla (13 km | 5-6 hours)

After breakfast, a short drive takes you to Taluka, where the real trek begins. Walk alongside the Supin River, cross wooden bridges, and enjoy the forest trails filled with walnut and chestnut trees. Reach Puani Garaat or the nearby village Osla, known for its beautiful wooden houses and centuries-old temple dedicated to Duryodhana.

Highlights: Riverside trail, waterfalls, traditional Himalayan village.

Day 3

Trek from Puani Garaat/Osla to Kalkatiyadhaar (6 km | 4-5 hours)

Today’s trail gradually ascends through lush meadows and patches of forest. The views become more stunning as you approach Kalkatiyadhaar, your campsite for the night. This is a great spot to enjoy mountain sunsets and stargazing.

Highlights: Meadows, mountain vistas, peaceful camping experience.

Day 4

Trek to Har Ki Dun Valley (3 km one way) & Return to Kalkatiyadhaar (Total 6 km | 5-6 hours)

Today is the most rewarding day of the trek. Begin your hike to the magical Har Ki Dun Valley, nestled between snow-covered peaks and alpine meadows. Explore the valley, capture breathtaking views of Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, and Kala Nag, and absorb its serene energy. Later, retrace your steps to Kalkatiyadhaar for an overnight stay.

Day 5

Trek back from Kalkatiyadhaar to Puani Garaat/Osla (6 km | 4-5 hours)

After breakfast, begin your descent through the scenic forests and retrace your way back to Osla or Puani Garaat. You’ll have free time to explore the village, interact with locals, and learn about their unique customs and traditions.

Highlights: Cultural exploration, forest trails, relaxation.

Day 6

Trek to Taluka (13 km | 5-6 hours) & Drive to Sankri or Purty

Trek back from Osla/Puani Garaat to Taluka, and then drive to Sankri or Purty, depending on the route and stay arrangements. Enjoy your last evening in the Himalayas with local food and a cozy stay.

Highlights: Leisure walk, end-of-trek celebration.

Day 7

Drive from Sankri to Dehradun (210 km | 8-9 hours)

After breakfast, drive back to Dehradun, carrying beautiful memories of the Har Ki Dun trek. Expect to reach by evening. Plan your return train or flight accordingly.

Highlights: Final mountain views, farewell to the Himalayas.
